Since 2015, the Stars Foundation has been delivering full-time, intensive mentoring and engagement programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women across Australia.
In 2025, Stars proudly expanded its reach with the opening of a new program at Christies Beach High School in South Australia, providing even more young women with the support they need to succeed.
The Stars program is built on a strong, evidence-based model with a holistic approach to support. At its core are the Four Pillars of Personal Development, which form the foundation of everything we do:
Our mission is to support and empower young First Nations women to make active choices that lead them toward realising their full potential. Through culturally safe, consistent, and positive engagement, Stars aims to improve education and life outcomes by building strong foundations in school and beyond.
At the heart of the program are the Stars Values – Respect, Honesty, Commitment, and Pride – which guide students as they navigate their educational journeys and transition into adulthood.
Students engage in a wide range of personal development activities and experiences, including: academic support, personal health and wellbeing, creative arts such as music, drama, and dance cooking and nutrition, exercise and sport.
They also participate in community, cultural, and volunteering activities, helping to build confidence, develop leadership, and strengthen their connection to culture and community.
By supporting each student holistically, Stars creates an environment where young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women can thrive, belong, and lead.
